  1. Main Street Advisory Board

    The Main Street Program stimulates private sector downtown reinvestment, and helps retain, expand, and recruit businesses, while also creating new jobs in Texas.

  2. Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee

    The committee makes recommendations with reference to park management and operations and shall provide guidance and advice regarding improvement and maintenance of the City's parks.

  3. Paseo de la Resaca Landscaping & Lighting

    The Paseo de la Resaca Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District Board's purpose is to improve landscaping, lighting and establish or improve parks and / or park like facilities.

  4. Planning & Zoning Commission

    The commission acts as the capital improvements advisory committee under Chapter 395 of the Texas Local Government Code and adopts rules for the efficient transaction of all its business.

  5. Public Library System Advisory Board

    The committee prepares an annual report with appraisal of the Library System's goals and objectives and to review specific plans of action and time tables for priorities of the Advisory Board and the Library System.

  6. Public Utilities Board (BPUB)

    The board has complete authority and power with reference to the control, management and operation of the power and light, water and sewage systems owned by the City of Brownsville, Texas, and the expenditure and application of the revenues of the system.

  7. Reinvestment Zone 1

    The purpose of the committee shall be to make recommendations to the City Commission concerning the administration of the Zone.

  8. Transit Advisory Committee

    The committee shall monitor the performance of Brownsville Urban System quality statistical reports, reviews requested and proposed service, policy and procedure changes to assure that user and institutional needs have been addressed.
