Arson investigators are a combination of law enforcement officer and firefighter. They are involved in investigating arson cases and counter-terrorism investigations. They are such an important and yet, relatively unsung part of the Fire Department. It takes dedication and hard work to be an investigator.
Investigators are certified peace officers. This means they are allowed to holster a weapon, give out citations, and arrest individuals who are breaking the law.
Fire Investigators work out of the Fire Marshal's Office. They are on call as needed.
If anyone has any information about a fire or suspected arson, they may contact Crimestoppers at 956-546-TIPS, or 956-548-6075.
