Saturday, March 15, 2014 is Bus Driver Appreciation Day in the City of Brownsville! Be sure to show your appreciation to the dedicated professionals that keep our buses moving and join us on that day for a community event at La Plaza at Brownsville terminal. There will be activities, giveaways, promotions and more!

The City of Brownsville encourages everyone to try using the transit service. Brownsville Metro provides bus service throughout the City of Brownsville with 16 bus routes running from 6:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Most routes originate from La Plaza at Brownsville terminal, located at 755 International Blvd. in downtown Brownsville (next to the Texas Southmost College and University of Texas at Brownsville campus). La Plaza at Brownsville is conveniently located and provides clean restrooms, indoor and outdoor seating, restaurants and concessions and access to multiple intercity bus providers with bus service to cities throughout the United States and Mexico.
You can purchase bus passes any time from our automatic ticket vending machine located outside of the building in the Brownsville Metro transit island. Bus passes and discount fare cards may also be purchased from Brownsville Metro staff inside the building during our regular business hours (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.), Monday through Friday.
